Jones has worked in the field of education for 35 years. He has been a teacher and high school principal and is currently teaching courses in administration and supervision at Saint Xavier University. His areas of research are school reform, school improvement, the forgotten role of supervision in school administration, and the process for becoming an instructional leader.
His article "The Myths that Drive Data-Driven Schools," was published in Education Digest in January 2006. He has been at Saint Xavier since 2002.
