Dr. Nancy M. Lockie & Dr. Kristine Florczak presented research at the NWINRC 25th Annual Research Conference

Saint Xavier University (SXU) School of Nursing’s (SON) Dr. Nancy Lockie, professor and Dr. Kristine Florczak, (lead author) Purdue University Northwest College of Nursing, presented their research “Losing a Partner: Do Continuing Bonds Bring Solace or Sorrow”, at the Northwest Indiana Nursing Research Consortium (NWINRC) 25th Annual Nursing Research Conference on November 3, 2017. The presentation was based on research conducted by Dr. Kristine Florczak and Dr. Lockie. The purpose of this qualitative descriptive study, grounded by the principle of human becoming was: To bring forth a deeper understanding about maintaining bonds with a deceased spouse and to describe the transformative process of losing a partner.
