Saint Xavier University (SXU) Department of Education Professor Meg Carroll, Ed.D., conducted a workshop on August 14 for the teachers of Saint Joseph Elementary School in Elgin about differentiating instruction by using student choice. On August 15, Prof. Carroll presented to the faculty of Saint Helen Elementary School in Ukrainian Village on the neurology of learning, epilepsy, ADHD and sensory needs. On August 16, she presented an interactive workshop to the full faculty of Truman College, a city college of Chicago, about meeting the needs of college students with disabilities. Later that day, Prof. Carroll offered a workshop to the faculty of Saint Walter Elementary School in Morgan Park on motivating students and inspiring them to embrace learning. On August 29, she worked with the faculty of Saint Therese Chinese Elementary School in Chinatown on dealing with challenging students.
