Saint Xavier University’s (SXU) School of Education Professor Meg Carroll, Ed.D., published an article in Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA) Today, January/February, Volume 3, Issue 1: Summer camp for students with learning disabilities and related disabilities.
Dr. Carroll has conducted the following presentations and workshops at various Chicago-area schools:
- Lockport Area Special Education Cooperative (LASEC) on Monday, Jan. 4, where she provided specials teachers and paraprofessionals with a workshop on meeting the needs of diverse students, including those with various disabilities.
- Catholic Schools in the Elgin Deanery of the Rockford Diocese on Monday, Jan.4, where Prof. Carroll talked about the needs of students with disabilities and academic and behavior steps that teachers can take to help all of the students be successful in school.
- Evergreen Park Community High School on Thursday, Jan. 14, where she provided a workshop on the roles of paraprofessionals, the Council for Exceptional Children standards for paraprofessionals, and the ways in which paraprofessionals can meet the needs of students with disabilities.
