Saint Xavier University (SXU) is pleased to announce this year’s Cuneo Foundation scholarship recipients. They are junior Lauren Knepper and freshman Peter Para.
Lauren Knepper is a nursing major who is considering specializing in pediatric nursing or working with those who have epilepsy. She is a dedicated member of the Saint Xavier community; along with her strong academic record, Lauren is a transitions peer mentor and tutors students taking various science and nursing courses. She is also active in Service Club and Campus Ministry.
Peter Para is an accounting major, but is considering a second major with the goal of attending law school after he completes his bachelor’s degree. Peter chose SXU because of its great sense of community.
Begun in 1945 by John F. Cuneo, Sr., The Cuneo Foundation is committed to funding scholarships to students attending Chicago area Catholic high schools and universities who exhibit academic excellence, a passion for service, and a desire to help create a more just society. The Cuneo Foundation has underwritten scholarships to deserving SXU students since 1992.
