Summer campus roadwork restoration project begins July 1

Facilities will begin its summer campus roadwork restoration project on Tues., July 1.

This project consists of replacing old asphalt curbing with new concrete curbing (and adding additional curbing), that runs along the road in front of the Warde Academic Center and continues east around McDonough Chapel ending at the stop sign at the intersection just in front of the south entrance to Lot #7.

It also includes grinding down the existing road and replacing it with new asphalt. We also will add a westbound and eastbound car drop-off lane with sidewalk in front of the main entrance to the Warde building. Associated tree removal and light pole/FPD call box relocation is included in this project.

Below is the schedule we will follow (weather dependent). We have broken the roadwork grinding and paving into two areas (area #1 western section/area #2 eastern section), in order to not completely close off the entire road access during this project. We will do our best to complete this work with the least disruption possible considering its large scope of work. We appreciate your patience and assistance during this important summer project.

  • July 1 to July 14 – Curb and concrete work (starts in area #2 first), and excavation of turnoffs and sidewalk (in front of Warde main entrance)
  • July 14 and 15 – Grinding area #2
  • July 16 – Paving area #2
  • July 17 and 18 – Grinding and paving area #1
