Farewell to SXU Coach Mike Dooley

Come join us on Tuesday, May 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Butler Reception Room on Saint Xavier University’s (SXU) Chicago campus as we celebrate the many achievements of SXU Baseball Coach Mike Dooley as he prepares for his big “seventh-inning stretch” – Retirement!!

Coach Dooley began his career over 30 years ago as a volunteer coach under head baseball coach John Morrey. Throughout the years, Dooley has amassed an impressive list of accomplishments that include sending 20 of his players onto professional baseball careers. He has averaged 37 wins a season over his coaching career with a career record that is 807-501-3 from 1993 to the present. He was a two-time NAIA Regional Coach of the Year and a five-time CCAC Conference Coach of the Year. And he is one of only 16 active coaches in NAIA Baseball to have achieved 800 or more career victories.

Come celebrate his many accomplishments as well as the impact Dooley has had on countless SXU players. A brief program will begin at 3 p.m., so don’t miss this wonderful celebration for a great man who has meant so much to so many.
