The Saint Xavier University Service Through Action Team (S.T.A.T.) invites the entire SXU community to join the Mercy connection as alumni, staff, faculty, students and friends of SXU come together to volunteer for Misericordia Candy Days. The event is scheduled for Fri., April 26 (SXU Volunteer Day) and Sat., April 27.
During Candy Days, volunteers from SXU will seek collections at the intersection of 95th Street and Cicero Avenue in Oak Lawn for Misericordia Heart of Mercy. If a friendly motorist gives a donation, they are given a sweet treat as thank you!
This is not an SXU-sponsored event. We are simply encouraging as many people as possible to volunteer.
For this project, individuals or teams of volunteers (must be 18 years old to participate) take two-hour shifts during the course of the day, which begins at 6 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. You may select the shift for which you would like to volunteer by completing our printer-friendly registration form. Please return the forms to Alumni House no later than Mon., April 15. A schedule will be created and distributed to all volunteers a week before the Candy Days. Raffles will take place throughout the day every other hour!
All volunteers of two or more hours will be entered into a special raffle that will be drawn during an appreciation reception at 6:30 p.m. on Fri., April 26 at Gilhooley’s Grande Saloon.
