School of Education Professor Eileen Quinn Knight, Ph.D., gave a presentation titled “Developing ‘Rigor’ in the Math Classroom” to teachers at Saint Christopher School in Midlothian. The definition of rigor, which refers to a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts, is from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and is based on the Common Core Standards for Math.
