The Publicity Club of Chicago recently honored Saint Xavier University’s Office for University Relations with two prestigious Silver Trumpet awards. University Relations staff members will be recognized at the 53rd Annual Golden Trumpet Awards on Wed., May 9 at The Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. The Golden Trumpet Awards is the premier awards competition for Chicago's public relations and communications professionals. The coveted awards are presented for excellence in planning, creativity and execution. University Relations received a Silver Trumpet in the "Video News Releases and Films" category, marking the third year in a row the Office has been honored for their achievements in this category. The winning entry, titled "Saint Xavier University Cougar Football,” is a compilation of comprehensive TV news coverage originating from video highlights of the SXU football team’s historic 2011 NAIA Championship season. The Office also received a Silver Trumpet in the “Corporate and/or Annual Reports” category for its 2010 Annual Report, “Investing in the Work Force of the 21st Century.” "The Golden Trumpet Award is the most prestigious of its kind in the Midwest," said Robert Tenczar, vice president for University Relations. "We are pleased to accept this distinguished award and grateful to the Publicity Club of Chicago for this honor, as well as for our strong relationships with Chicago television stations."
